Food was fantastic on the 1st day we went, recommend the Special -Harbour Inn Fish Platter (lobster and prawn cocktail, Portman crab, tempura mackrel, smoked mackrel pate, salmon and salmon in puff pastry). We shared a special with a side of chips it was more than enough for two. Staff were super friendly and helpful on day one. Went back the following day and they had mixed up our table booking time meaning rather than being sat for 1.30 we did not get a table until 2.10, customer service was definitely not as good the 2nd time (different staff). 2nd order was again from the specials menu: vegetarian aubergine lasagne and the scallops with katsu curry (also the main menu beer battered fish and chips). Recommend booking in advance as its often fully booked.

Simply amazing. We had mussels to start and fish and chips for main. The food tasted so fresh and was delicious. The large mussles was a great sized portion, as was the fish and chips. Great covid measures in place, with plenty of sanitising stations, all staff wearing face coverings. Had to wear a mask when not seated (to go toilet/waiting for table) which I thought was great. Tables sanitised between customers. All staff were extremely polite, attentive and helpful. Views were amazing. Would recommend booking as was consistently busy inside and out whilst we were there.

Great good, beach front location, attentive staff. Pleased to see some real attention being given to covid measures with thorough clean down between covers and social distancing in place. 👍

Nice place this, loads of choice along the front for a bite to eat and drink so this was a random walk in, bright and clean with pleasant staff, although we did get passed over to order when some locals walked in, bit naughty that. Food was good fish platter was excellent according to my wife, definitely would return as long as not full of locals so we didn't get served.

I cannot rate this place enough. The fish was incredible, the chips were perfect and the setting is relaxed. Have been multiple times now and each and every time they never let me down.

Surprisingly good. I have found that seaside restaurants can be indifferent. This place served up a tasty vegetarian meal--butternut squash tarjine. Recommended.

Nice food and a friendly atmosphere. The menu doesn't change that often but there are some nice options including local fish. The service was great.

Food and service were excellent when we visited on a cold and windy day. Meal was spoilt by having to listen to the kitchen staff discuss whether they would prefer a 9 to 5 job instead of shift work and what time their girlfriend had got up that morning. I could see into the kitchen and there also seemed to be a few non serving people wandering in and out!

Brilliant! Free house-family owned/run. Right on harbour side. Bit unprepossessing from outside but lovely inside and varied menu. Goes back a way. Staff lovely. Not cheapest but do lovely sizeable cheese and potato topped Fish Pie with salad for £14.50.

Fantastic food! Seafood dishes are fresh and local where possible. Huge portions! Speedy service in spite of the place being very busy and everything freshly made. Interior is a little aged and chairs are hard.

We had a fantastic lunch today at the Harbour Inn. Great food, very good service and a very reasonable price. Decor is perfect and pictures for sale on the walls are really impressive. We will definitely go back - if only to try the seafood platter which sounds amazing.

Food was ok, staff seemed to panic abit when it got busy and became flustered. I had the bouillabaisse and although tasty I had sandy cockles and a fish bone and scales still on the skin, my father had to same but his was given with x2 prawns as well where as I didn't have any. I would eat here again but I would chose something different

Very good. Simple menu very well cooked. Great service - waiters and waitresses are well drilled and attentive. My wife said that her plaice dish was the best piece of fish she has ever had. I think the approach is to present simple dishes very well cooked. A great place for local fish dishes. Busy place so it's best to book.

Very nice place to eat. Only quarms is they didn't have some things on menu and price wise, it's a little expensive that what's it's worth. I had the chicken kiev which was nice, but I'd check other places in the area too.

Generally good food but on the night I visited they’d run out of the main vegetarian meal. This left me no option but to order a large portion on a veggie starter. When my meal arrived I asked fir a little more parmazan cheese to which I was told I could but would be charged extra. Very disappointing, considering I wAsnt able to have my first choice meal

Went down with the wife last night... Not the cheapest place to eat in lyme but the food was very nice and worth every penny. The staff are very friendly too and more than happy to help... So if your looking for a little bit more than pub grub I would highly recommend the harbour inn. 😀

Friendly quick service though slightly old fashioned decor but many loyal customers. Food was tasty and large portions- kids meals were adult sized. Prices were not cheap but I guess they give the large portions because of this.

What a splendid meal. Freezing cold and blowing a gale outside. Inside a warm and cheerful reception with great food on offer. Great local fish on offer. Great help and advice so far as our wine was concerned. We left well fed and well contented. We will return for certain.

Really nice place on the harbour. I met up with friends for coffee and a brownie. The staff were attentive and really friendly. The coffee they make is really good. The homemade brownie with cream was gorgeous and just what I needed after a long coastal walk. There's outdoor seating as well which is great for the long evenings. Definately worth a visit.

Met some dear friends here for lunch today. We had a wonderful time - the service was excellent; friendly, helpful and patient when we were talking too enthusiastically to look at the menu and choose! Fabulous selection of fish and seafood; a little pricey, but quality and quantity are great. Busy and bustling atmosphere, even though a Thursday lunchtime in the lull after New Year. Its situation is stunning too, with outside seating opposite the harbour and famous Cobb. Highly recommended, but book in advance for peace of mind.

We've just had a lovely memorable meal at the Harbour Inn in Lyme Regis. The food was delicious and served hot, the fish as fresh as I've had in ages! Also, the service was second to none, the lovely young person who waited on us was excellent, attentive and very helpful, in terms of gluten free, and other needs. Two dessert spoons, no bother, and great advice on the tastiest desserts... We'll definitely be back!

GREAT PLACE. Despite sitting at a tiny table which we initially thought may ruin the experience the food and service definitely made up for it. Would visit again next time we're in town. *Try the lobster - it was fabulous*

The Harbour Inn is a prime location central and over looking the main sandy beach in Lyme. It displays a good menu including a few local fish meals. However, having asked for a glass of Prosecco, on tasting it my wife said "that's not Prosecco!" On enquiring it was apparent it was draft sparkling low grade sweetened, gassed wine. This was charged £1.50 more than the Sauvignon she changed it for. This is appalling service & practice & why are the restaurant not selling Prosecco by the glass or, half bottle?! This is a prime bar/restaurant in Lyme Regis!

Don't support the cruel owners of this establishment. We saw them pushing helpless seagull chicks off of a flat roof used for storage with a broom hoping to kill them. In a few more days they would have flown off anyway . Luckily myself and a couple of kindhearted locals caught the chicks and put them on an adjacent roof where mum could feed them. These people are hear tless Please eat and drink elsewhere.

Decent food and a reasonable choice of mostly fish dishes, although there are some meat based meals available. The wine list is quite comprehensive and not too expensive. Very nice coffee, but we didn't have room for a dessert, but they looked good.

13:35 23 May 18
Good if they bother to serve you. I've gone twice in the past year and they always have just stopped serving food even when it's still prime time. Such odd management decisions for otherwise a good pub.

Never had such a bland lobster. The portion of lobster was good but you could barely taste lobster beside it was chewy, even the sauce instead of over power or display the flavourness and freshness of seafood it was equally bland. The vegies were vegies though I enjoyed the season of the red cabbage.A good selection of wines.

An Excellent May Day fish lunch at a fairly busy venue. Luckily, my lady friend and I were quite early, checking in at around half past midday as the joint was rocking by one thirty. The service was prompt, friendly and efficient and the food delicious, served by cheerful young ladies. The price was reasonable, considering the fine quality of the fare. As someone said once, we’ll be back.

02:43 03 Apr 18
The good had been a bit mediocre on our last few visits, and the first soup and bouillabaisse were flavourless and unimpressive. The service is quick but the food is just not good enough for its current rating. It may well be one of the better places in Lyme, but still got lots of room for improvement...

I went in because of the high rating and almost went out again when I saw the interior. I'm glad I decided to stay because the food was absolutely brilliant. There is outside seating both on the terrace and on the beach. If you are looking for a decent atmosphere, go somewhere else (e.g. the Volunteer or the Royal Lion).

Slightly odd place - very much doesn’t feel like an inn and quite unwelcoming from the back entrance, with somewhat unusual decor. Service was good, and the place had a very friendly atmosphere once we were in and seated. The food was really very good and fairly reasonably priced. Will definitely be coming back.

Good food, good beer and welcoming staff, who allow dogs in the large lower seating area. This is good because over friendly dogs are not welcome at everyone's table, but our Daisy's big, brown, starving eyes can melt someone at 30 paces so she is happy!

Lots of choice of condiments.Five star food hygiene, five star food safety, five star manual handling.Lovely take away and definitely one of the best in the UK. Do not go to this place. The weather was vile wind and rain so inside the dinning room all the floors were wet. The door was left open many times and the draft very uncomfortable, It was cold and damp . It didnt help that there were several dogs soaking wet and very smelly in a eating area. Food was not good, soup was horrible both bowls went back hardly touched. Main course was only ok. Sorry this was not what we expected from the details on the web site. Waiting staff were very good.
