Burns Night, or Robert Burns Day is the celebration of the life and poetry of Robert Burns. Celebrations are usually held around his birthday which was January 25th. He was born in 1759 and passed away on 21st July 1796. The first Burns celebrations happened in 1801 to commemorate the fifth anniversary of his death.
